Sophia began singing together at the age of eleven in The Santa Rosa Children's Chorus. Influenced by Sade, Zap Mama, Bjork and Sinead O' Conner, she grew up intrigued by female experimental vocalization and began the acapella trio Copper Wimmin when she was in her late teens. After winning a local singing competition, the trio quickly gained recognition for it's captivating performances, unusual harmonies and poetic lyrics. They won several awards including best vocal group in the NORBAYS, they took home a silver metal in the San Francisco Bay Area Harmony Sweepstakes, and their work earned them the 2006 Isadora Duncan Dance Award for best musical score. Most recently their work was featured on the Showtime series the L Word.

Sophia is working on a new record with Christopher K this year.
